KTPA with emergency power inputs (2KTPA) are complete double-transformer substations designed for reliable reception, conversion, and distribution of electricity. These substations, with capacities of 630-1000 kVA and voltages of 6/10 kV on the high side and 0.4 kV on the low side, are ideally suited for indoor installation in temperate climates. They ensure uninterrupted power supply for first-category consumers and facilities with high reliability requirements.
Structural Features
The main structural elements of KTPA are high and low voltage devices, as well as power transformers. Each component is designed for maximum functionality and integration into a single system, ensuring ease of installation and maintenance. The low-voltage switchgear (LVSG) is modular, allowing the number of cabinets to be adapted to the specific needs of the customer.
- LVSG Modularity: The number of cabinets is determined upon order, but not more than 13 (34 outgoing lines) and not less than 10 (19 outgoing lines).
- Cable Connection: In cabinets SW and SC, it is possible to connect up to six cables, and in SL — up to nine cables with a cross-section of up to 3×150 mm2. In cabinet SWA, it is possible to connect up to five cables with a cross-section of up to 3×185 mm2+1×70 mm2.
- Control: Control of the incoming, sectional, and emergency power source circuit breakers is carried out from a separate control panel.
- Circuit Breakers: LVSG cabinets are manufactured with withdrawable automatic circuit breakers. By agreement with the customer, it is possible to complete them with automatic circuit breakers from leading world manufacturers (Schneider Electric, ABB, Siemens) according to individual schemes.
- Control System: The microprocessor unit BMR3-0.4 is used, with the possibility of connection to an ACS (automated control system).
- ATS System: The 2KTPA schemes provide for ATS (automatic transfer switch) on the sectional circuit breaker and emergency power ATS with automatic return of the scheme to its initial position upon restoration of the main power supply.

Advantages of Using KTPA Substations
The use of KTPA packaged transformer substations provides a number of significant advantages, making them an optimal choice for facilities with high demands for power supply reliability. Thanks to integrated solutions and modern technologies, they ensure efficient and safe operation, minimizing the risks of power outages and simplifying maintenance.
- High Power Supply Reliability: Substations are designed for first-category consumers and special reliability groups. The presence of two transformers and emergency power inputs ensures redundancy and uninterrupted operation.
- Automation and Rapid Recovery: The ATS (automatic transfer switch) system on the sectional circuit breaker and for emergency power guarantees a quick automatic return of the scheme to its initial position upon restoration of the main power supply.
- Flexible Configuration: The modular design of the LVSG allows for adapting the number of cabinets and connection schemes to the specific needs of the customer, including various emergency power options.
- Modern Control Technologies: The use of the microprocessor unit BMR3-0.4 with the possibility of connection to an ACS (automated control system) ensures intelligent control and monitoring.
- Component Selection: The possibility of equipping with automatic circuit breakers from leading global manufacturers such as Schneider Electric, ABB, and Siemens allows for optimizing the solution to individual requirements and standards.
Areas of Application
KTPA packaged transformer substations, thanks to their high reliability, flexibility, and ability to provide uninterrupted power supply, find wide application in various industries and infrastructure sectors. Their capability to work with critically important consumers makes them indispensable for facilities where power supply stability is a priority.
- Gas Transportation System: used for the own needs of gas pumping compressor stations on main gas pipelines, as well as at gas production and processing facilities.
- Industrial Enterprises: ensuring uninterrupted power supply for factories, plants, large production workshops, and complexes requiring stable technological processes.
- Energy Infrastructure: powering the own needs of thermal and nuclear power plants, as well as distribution points and nodal substations serving critical loads.
- Facilities with High Reliability Requirements: power supply for dispatch centers, control centers, life support systems (hospitals, data centers), and large commercial facilities.
- Transport Infrastructure: application at railway junctions, port facilities, and other transport objects where continuity of operation is important.
Compliance with Standards
Compliance with standards is a critically important aspect for electrical equipment, guaranteeing its safety, reliability, and compatibility with existing energy systems. KTPA substations are developed and manufactured in compliance with all current regulatory documents, which confirms their high quality and conformity to industry requirements.
- KTPA comply with Technical Specifications TU 16-89 IVAK.674826.023 TU, which is the main regulatory document governing requirements for their design, production, and acceptance.
- The use of components from leading world manufacturers (Schneider Electric, ABB, Siemens) additionally emphasizes compliance with international quality and safety standards applicable to electrical equipment.
